Tournament
On June 1, 32 teams will descend on WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC, for a four-day tournament with the winners taking home $1 million. It’s certainly not your traditional soccer tournament with different rules, procedures and a collection of squads comprised of legends, professionals, up-and-coming talents, amateurs, viral street sensations and everyone in-between. So far, 21 competing clubs have been revealed including Borussia Dortmund, Liga MX’s Club Necaxa, EFL promotion hopefuls Wrexham AFC and a squad of USWNT legends.
Team US Women
US Women will be captained by legendary US Women’s National Team player Heather O’Reilly. O’Reilly has been playing professional soccer since 2004 and has over 230 US National Team caps. This experience has allowed her to put together a roster full of some of the best women’s soccer players in the world, included on the roster Berky Visting Pro’s Lori Lindsey and Kristine Lilly. The team will include Mia Hamm as an assistant coach. Mia was a two-time Olympic gold medalist and two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion with the USWNT playing for 17 years. As they’ve done time and time again, these ladies will look to prove you wrong en route to the $1 million prize!

Each year, we invite current and former US Women’s National Team members to the Academy to coach and inspire our athletes. They typically spend one day at the Academy actively coaching on the field. They also answer questions, sign autographs, and take photos.

Over her twelve-year USWNT career, Heather appeared 231 times and helped the team win three Olympic gold medals (2004, 2008, 2012) and a Women’s World Cup in 2015. Hao joined us as our Visting Pro in 2013, 2014 & 2022.
Kristine is the world’s all-time international caps leader, having played 352 games for the United States. She has two Olympic gold medals and won two Women’s World Cups. Kristine has spent 9 summers at BSA with TeamFirst and was our 2015, 2016 & 2021 Visting Pro.
Lori represented the US Women’s National Team 31 times and was part of the 2011 World Cup winning squad and the Gold Medal winning Team USA at the 2012 Olympic Games. In 2018 Lori was both our Visiting Pro and one of our Session VII: Invitational master coaches. Lori returned as a Master Coach in 2019.
Mia Hamm
Mia joined the U.S. Women’s National Team in 1987 and played for 17 years. She remains the USWMNT’s all-time assist leader. She has two Olympic Gold Medals and 2 Women’s World Cups. She remains the USWMNT’s all-time assist leader. Mia has spent 9 summers at BSA with TeamFirst.
