Soccer Tournament Highlights
Columbus Day Weekend, October 12-14th is one of many holidays celebrated with local soccer tournaments. The cross country trip to Westchester was well worth it the instant we were welcomed by a group of screaming 11 to 13 year old Berky Girls! After such an amazing summer, it was great to see so many familiar faces at the FC Westchester and Yonkers United Tournaments. Over 500 teams attended the regional FC Westchester Tournament and over 50 teams attended the local Yonkers United Tournament. With BSA campers and their teams pouring into both tournaments it gave us the chance to meet the families, friends, and coaches behind these amazing girls.
Together we relived and shared our fondest memories of camp. Another highlight of our trip was that everyone had the chance to win a BSA soccer ball signed by our Visiting Pro Heather O’Reilly (HAO). A total of 80 people entered our giveaway, and 5 signed HAO balls were sent out to campers from White Plains, East Chester, Scarsdale, Irvington, and Plainview.
Though there were only 5 winners at these recent events, you can certainly come out to learn more about the Academy and try your luck at another signed HAO ball at one of our upcoming Directors Tour Events.
