Women’s Soccer Legend

Tisha Venturini-Hoch is considered to be the winningest team player in the history of women’s soccer. She played for the U.S. Women’s National Team for nine years. She was a key team member on the U.S. Women’s National team from 1992-2000. She helped her team win an Olympic gold medal in 1996 and a Women’s World Cup title in 1999. Tisha finished her career with 132 appearances and 44 goals. She currently holds the 12th rank in U.S. women’s soccer for goals scored.

Since retirement, Tisha has become a highly desirable coach, and we are fortunate to have her as one of our Visiting Pros. Tisha has coached at the Academy with TeamFirst from 2014 – 2023 and will be returning again during Session I of the 2023 season with the TeamFirst Soccer Academy.

As a collegiate standout, Tisha was a four-time ACC champion and four-time national champion for the Tar Heels at University of North Carolina. She was a four-time NCAA Division I All-American as well as a 1994 Hermann Trophy Award winner. Tisha finished her career at UNC with an impressive 97-1-1 record.

Tisha was a founding player and member of WUSA playing for the Bay Area/San Jose Cyber Rays from 2001-2003. She led her team to win the 2001 WUSA Founders Cup Championship title in 2001.
