Session I with TeamFirst (Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly, and Tisha Venturini)

Twenty years after the 99ers won the World Cup at the Rose Bowl, Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly, and Tisha Venturini will celebrate the anniversary at the Berkshire Soccer Academy. After arrival, campers attending Session I will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to watch the US women’s national team alongside the USWNT legends. Sunday: Soccer Camp Arrival

Thank you to the arriving families for a smooth drop-off and start of Session I, despite the rain. The weather hasn’t managed to dampen our spirits in the slightest. We are very excited for the week ahead! Following lunch, campers watched the USA vs Chile match and celebrated a USA victory with TeamFirst.

Opening Campfire

Campers kept dry training at indoor facilities nearby. In the evening, the staff shared a variety of skits, songs and games at the opening campfire. The goal of the night was to relax the campers and show them that Berky is a safe place to develop on and off the field. By the end of the session, campers will be asked to share their own contributions as a cabin at this week’s “Winter Wonderland” themed closing Campfire.

Monday: Starting Soccer Training and Electives

After a rainy start to the week, the skies held and campers were able to spend the day on the fields and outdoors at electives. After training with TeamFirst, campers also had to opportunity to watch the pros play against our Berky soccer staff in a pickup game.

Berky Tourney

In the evening, the girls hit the fields to compete in this week’s World Cup inspired Berky Tourney, representing many different nations. Don’t miss out on highlights of the action! Use the SmugMug link below to browse all photos of the event.

Tuesday: Player Development at Berky

The weather was not cooperative today. Thankfully, we secured indoor training facilities for the morning training session. Before lunch, the campers had the opportunity to ask TeamFirst about themselves and their careers at our Q&A session.

Cabin Cup

Campers came together as bunkmates to compete in the one and only…Cabin Cup (ahhhh! 🙌) This week, campers participated in Berky Swap. Be sure to check out our pictures of all the craziness and fun that ensued.

Wednesday: Girls Soccer Training and (S’)more

Campers spent the morning on the soccer fields for another high energy training session.

Closing Campfire

Campers stepped on stage and performed together at tonight’s Closing Campfire. Campers and staff alike were treated to skits, songs, and plenty of laughs… And s’mores were on the menu too! Delish!

Thursday: Final Training Sessions & Electives

After a fun-filled week, Session I has drawn to a close. The campers enjoyed their last training sessions of the week with their coaches. At lunch, we celebrated Lauren’s birthday with cupcakes!

Soccer Camp Departure

Campers were able to squeeze in a little more time at their favorite electives, and each cabin and the whole camp met at the Moose for pictures. Check out all of our group photos using the SmugMug link below. Goodbyes are hard, but we hope to see everyone again soon!

Bridge A

After a solid week of training, the campers traded their cleats for life jackets and took to Deerfield Fife Brook for whitewater rafting. On Saturday, the girls slept in and enjoyed a laid-back day of electives onsite.

Bridges are designed to connect sessions and give athletes recovery time after or between sessions to optimize peak performance, avoid overexertion, and bond with other campers. Read more about the development of our bridge program and how it’s helping future athletes succeed.
