Sunday: Soccer Camp Arrival
Thank you to the arriving families for making Arrival Day a smooth one. Session V started out with a visit from Andi Sullivan, who plays for the Washington Spirit and the USWNT, and after lunch’s Q&A session, Andi joined the girls up at the fields for their first training session.
Opening Campfire
After an afternoon of training, the campers kicked off the week with an evening campfire. The staff shared a variety of skits, songs and games at the opening campfire. The goal of the night is to relax the campers and show them that Berky is a safe place to develop on and off the field. On Wednesday evening, campers will be invited to take center stage of this week’s superhero-themed closing campfire and share their own cabin skits.
Monday: Starting Soccer Training and Electives
We’re kicking off the week with sunshine, smiles, and soccer. Players spent the morning on the fields learning new skills from our coaches. During elective time, they got to chill out with new friends and beat the heat.
Cabin Cup
Campers came together as bunk mates to compete for the one and only…Cabin Cup (ahhhh! 🙌). This week, they made a splash competing in the Aqua Olympics. Catch all the action shots on SmugMug using the link below.
Tuesday: Player Development at Berky
The girls enjoyed another beautiful morning at the fields before transitioning to their electives. Today’s mental skill, Care, was emphasized as campers worked on 1v1 defending.
Berky Tourney
After a fun-filled afternoon of electives, the girls were assigned teams, donned spirit wear, and hit the fields to compete in the Berky Tourney. This week, players represented nations competing in the Berky World Cup. Don’t miss out on highlights of the action! Use the SmugMug link below to browse photos of the event.
Wednesday: Girls Soccer Training and (S’)more
The weather held out for another high energy training session for the girls before they were off to enjoy their electives.
Closing Campfire
In the evening, campers stepped on stage and performed together at tonight’s closing campfire. Despite the looming threat the weather presented, we managed to stay outside and had a blast, and our campers wowed us with their creativity and good-natured spirits. And of course s’mores were still on the menu….Delish!
Thursday: Final Training Sessions & Electives
The week has finally drawn to a close. Each cabin and the whole camp met at the Moose for pictures. Check out the SmugMug link below to see all the group photos from Session V. We’re sad to say goodbye, but we hope to see all of our campers again soon!
Soccer Camp Departure
After a fun-filled week, Session V has drawn to a close. The campers enjoyed their last training session of the week with their coaches. They were able to squeeze in a little more time at their favorite electives too.
Bridge E
Campers enjoyed their Bridge trip to Lake Compounce Amusement Park in Bristol, CT. Fun fact: Lake Compounce, which opened in 1846, is the oldest continuously operating amusement park in the United States. (Oooh – Ahhh!)
Bridges are designed to connect sessions and give athletes recovery time after or between sessions to optimize peak performance, avoid overexertion, and bond with other campers. Read more about the development of our bridge program and how it’s helping future athletes succeed.
Bridge Availability
Would you like to offer your camper an extended stay? The Bridge Program includes an off-site trip to New England’s premier theme park and a relaxed day at camp to have fun with new friends. Fewer than 10 spots currently remain in Bridge E. You may add a Bridge on Arrival Day or by emailing office@berkshiresocceracademy.com as late as Wednesday, provided there is still availability.
