Sunday: Soccer Camp Arrival
Thank you to the arriving families for a smooth drop-off and start of Session V. We are very excited for the week ahead, and for Heather O’Reilly to join us!
Opening Campfire
In the evening after soccer and electives, the staff shared a variety of skits, songs and games at the Opening Campfire. The goal of the night is to relax the campers and show them that Berky is a safe place to develop on and off the field. By the end of the session, campers will be asked to share their own contributions as a cabin at this week’s “Spookfest” themed Closing Campfire.
Monday: Starting Soccer Training and Electives
The weather did not cooperate for most of Monday morning. Campers still had a chance to train up at the fields before participating in some rainy day electives.
Cabin Cup
Thankfully, there was a break in the rain in time for another training session with our coaches before it was time for more electives. Later in the evening, it was time for campers to come together as bunk mates to compete for the one and only…Cabin Cup (ahhhh!). Campers participated in a ‘dutch auction’ indoors due to weather.
Tuesday: Player Development at Berky
It was a beautiful morning and the girls spent their time at the fields training with our coaches before they were off to enjoy their electives.
Berky Tourney
Tuesday afternoon, campers were joined by Three Time Olympic Gold Medalist and World Cup Winner Champion Heather O’Reilly. She did a Q&A and autograph/photo session with the girls before joining them on the fields for a fantastic training session. Later in the evening, it was time for the Berky Tourney. This week’s theme was ‘Superheros”. Use the SmugMug link below to check out the fun and action!
Wednesday: Girls Soccer Training and (S’)more
Players spent the morning on the fields learning new skills from our coaches. During elective time, they got to chill out with new friends and beat the heat.
Closing Campfire
After another round of soccer and electives, it was time for our “Spookfest” themed Closing Campfire in the evening. Campers and staff were treated to skits performed by each cabin, and S’mores were on the menu too..Delish!
Thursday: Final Training Sessions & Electives
What a great week it has been! To start out the morning, each cabin met at the Moose for pictures. Campers then enjoyed their last electives and soccer training session to close out a fun-filled week. Check out all of our group photos using the SmugMug link below.
Soccer Camp Departure
Session V has drawn to a close. Goodbyes are hard, but we hope to see all of our campers again soon!
Bridge E
Campers spent their Friday on a ziplining canopy tour followed by a relaxed day at camp participating in Electives on Saturday. Bridges are designed to connect sessions and give athletes recovery time after or between sessions to optimize peak performance, avoid overexertion, and bond with other campers. Read more about the development of our bridge program and how it’s helping future athletes succeed.
Bridge Availability
Would you like to offer your camper an extended stay? The Bridge Program includes ziplining, sleep-in mornings, and a relaxed day at camp to have fun with new friends. You may add a Bridge on Arrival Day or by emailing office@berkshiresocceracademy.com as late as Wednesday, provided there is still availability.
