Meet Your 2023 Cabin Counselors

Our Cabin Counselors impact Berky campers beyond the soccer field and the activity areas.

Each cabin of 8-12 campers typically houses one Assistant Soccer Coach and one Elective Staff member, this gives the girls the opportunity to build relationships and bond with both soccer and elective staff members. Our cabin counselors work together to supervise and support their campers. They are important mentors and positive role models, promoting friendships and fun and encouraging positive group interactions and cohesion. They also ensure campers keep the cabins organized during daily cabin clean-up. All cabin counselors are 18 years or older.

Our Res Life Team oversees all aspects of cabin life and camper well-being. They work alongside our health staff and cabin counselors to ensure that campers feel safe, supported and have fun during their time at Berky.

Jenn is from Seattle, WA, and is the Mental Skills Coordinator and Res Life Coordinator this summer. She has a degree in Journalism/Photography/Public Relations from Northern Arizona University. Jenn is the founder of Expand Your Game and the Mindset Mastery Academy, a 1-on-1 mental skills program for female soccer players. 

Fun Facts: She used to be a sports photojournalist and has run 2 full marathons.

2023 Res Life Leaders & Cabin Counselors

Res Life Group Courage

Lucy is from Northampton, England, and is the Res Life Leader for Courage this summer. She holds a BSC in Physiology from the University of Liverpool and a MSC in Marine Biology from Bangor University.

Fun Facts: She loves the ocean and her favorite animal is a whale. She also lived in Australia for a year.

Courage Cabin Counselors

Alberina hails from Frankfurt, Germany, and is an Assistant Coach and Cabin Counselor. She currently is studying Sport Science at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt. 

Fun Facts: She always wears white socks and played for two years for the Kosovan National Football team.

Amy is from Newton-le-Willows, UK, and is a Lifeguard/Cabin Counselor. She is in her 1st year at the University of Stirling in Scotland studying History and Politics. 

Fun Facts: She practices boxing and Muay Thai (kickboxing), and does yoga/pilates every day.

Rosie is from Arlington Heights, IL, and is an Athletics Trainers’ Assistant/Lifeguard/Cabin Counselor. She is a sophomore at Iowa State studying Athletic Training. 

Fun Facts: She’s done competitive gymnastics for 10 years and counting (she still does it in college), and her last name means ‘little fish’ in Italian.

Amber is from Romford, Essex, England, and is an Assistant Coach/Cabin counselor this summer. She attends Oxford Brookes University in England where she is majoring in Physical Education and Sports Coaching, and playing soccer for the University. 

Fun Facts: She loves West Ham United and a famous soccer player has come to her house.

Charlotte is from Hatfield, Hertfordshire UK, and is a Lifeguard/Cabin Counselor. She also has a National Diploma in Personal Training. 

Fun Facts: She has 2 cats and has never broken a bone.

Ella is from Teichman, Ghana, and is an Assistant Soccer Coach and Cabin Counselor this summer. She will be a senior at Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut, and is considering offers to play soccer at Brown, Wesleyan, Amherst, and Williams after graduation. 

Fun Facts: She is the last born in her family and loves spicy food.

Stephanie is from West Des Moines, Iowa. She will be a General Counselor this summer. Stephanie is a Junior at Iowa State University studying Psychology. 

Fun Facts: She loves to eat and her middle name is Elizabeth.

Res Life Group Dash

Lily is from Cumbria, England and is the Res Life Leader for Dash this summer. She attended Lancaster University and holds a LLM in International History. She also attended University of Leeds and holds a BA in International History and Politics.

Fun Facts: She has preformed in 4 Christmas Pantomimes, most recently as the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella. Her favorite animal is an Okapi.

Dash Cabin Counselors

Abbie is from Salt Lake City, UT, and is a Fitness Instructor/Cabin Counselor. She recently graduated from the University of Utah and is currently a personal trainer at EōS Fitness. 

Fun Facts: She is an active runner and loves Taylor Swift.

Victoria is from Arlington Heights, IL, and is a Lifeguard/Cabin Counselor. She is a freshman at Rutgers University studying Genetics and Cellular/Molecular Biology. 

Fun Facts: She’s a competitive swimmer and both of her parents named her the ‘funniest child.’

Emma is from Northampton, England, and is an Assistant Coach and Cabin Counselor. She graduated from the University of Northampton with a BA in Policing. 

Fun Facts: She supports Liverpool FC and loves playing card games.

Jodie is from Mirfield, West Yorkshire, England, and is a General Counselor. She has a BSC in Sociology and Psychology from Huddersfield University in England. 

Fun Facts: She was the first leap-year baby born in West Yorkshire in the year 2000 and has two dogs.

Melanie is from Rostock, Germany, and will be a General Counselor this summer. She attends the University of Rostock and is working towards a degree in Biology and English. 

Fun Facts: Melanie is obsessed with Harry Potter and still reads the books despite reading them at least 5 times already. She also has played Violin for 13 years.

Danni is from West Yorkshire, England, and is a General Counselor. She holds a BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing degree from Huddersfield University in England and also has a Postgraduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing. 

Fun Facts: She has skydived in Las Vegas and has driven a Ferrari before. 

Res Life Group Spirit

Ellie is from Barnsley, Yorkshire, England and she is the Res Life Leader for Spirit. She is currently working towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Social Sciences and a QTs Masters from the University of Bolton in England. Previously, Ellie attended the University of Huddersfield and received a BA in Psychology and Sociology. 

Fun Facts: Ellie is an identical twin and has met Princess Anne and Bear Grylls.

Spirit Cabin Counselors

Robyn is from Ayr, Scotland, and is an Assistant Soccer Coach and Cabin Counselor this summer. She attends the University of the West of Scotland and also has a degree in Coaching and Developing Sports from Ayrshire College. 

Fun Facts: She plays the guitar and is an only child. 

Apreet is from Essex, England, and is a Lifeguard/Cabin Counselor. She is currently in her 2nd year studying Criminology. 

Fun Facts: She has over 10 pets and 4 sisters.

Alivia is from Findlay, Ohio, and is an Assistant Coach/Cabin Counselor. She is a Senior at Tiffin University in Ohio studying Sports Management and is on the Women’s Soccer Team. 

Fun Facts: Her favorite color is blue and her favorite movie is Iron Man. 

Emma is from Glasgow, Scotland, and will be a General Counselor this summer. 


Fun Facts: She loves cows, and her biggest fear is water. 

Niamh is from Glasgow, Scotland, and is an Assistant Coach and Cabin Counselor. She attends Glasgow University, where she is pursuing a Law Degree, and coaches with the Queens Park FC Community Program. 

Fun Facts: She comes from a small farming village and her favorite film is Cool Runnings.

Teresa is from Shelton, CT, and is a General Counselor. She is a Sophomore at Wentworth Institute of Technology studying Industrial Design. 

Fun Facts: She played Soccer for 14 years, plays Lacrosse for her College and she has an adorable dog named Tucker.

Aniejah is from Buffalo, NY, and is an Assistant Soccer Coach/Cabin Counselor. She holds a Psychology Degree from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. 

Fun Facts: She has climbed Machu Picchu and will be going to Law School in Chicago in the fall. 

Tilly is from Edinburgh, Scotland, and is a General Counselor. She is in her 2nd year at Queen Margaret University in Musselburgh, Scotland. 

Fun Facts: She plays guitar and has 2 dogs. 

Res Life Group Reign

Ainslie is from Girvan, Scotland and will be the Res Life Leader for Spirit this summer. She graduated in 2021 from Abertay University in Scotland with a degree in Sports and Exercise Science.

Fun Facts: She has climbed to Annapurna base camp in Nepal and has donated over 3 feet of her hair.

Reign Cabin Counselors

Maya is from Logan, Ohio, and will be an Assistant Coach/Cabin Counselor. She is a Junior at Tiffin University in Ohio studying Psychology and is on the Women’s Soccer Team. 

Fun Facts: She owns an awesome pair of purple sunglasses and likes to do different accents.

Paige is from Santa Cruz, CA, and will be an Arts & Crafts Instructor/Cabin Counselor. She is a Sophomore at Seattle University studying Education and Spanish. 

Fun Facts: She has a weekly radio show and is an Alumni Berky Camper.

Nadja is from Ivory Coast, West Africa, and will be an Assistant Coach and Cabin Counselor this summer. She currently attends Suffield Academy in Connecticut and is Captain of the girl’s soccer team. After graduation, she is considering playing at UConn, Brown, or the University of South Carolina. 

Fun Facts: She is left-handed and loves ping pong.

Evie is from Northampton, UK, and is a Lifeguard and Cabin Counselor. She is in her 2nd year at the University of Portsmouth in the UK and is studying Sports Science. 

Fun Facts: She can speak Australian and is a qualified scuba diver.

Rachel is from Nagyatád, Hungary, and will be an Assistant Soccer Coach and Cabin Counselor this summer. She is in her 5th year at University studying P.E. and English. 

Fun Facts: She was born in Chicago and moved to Hungary at 2 years old and this is her first time back in the US. Her entire family plays soccer.

Abby is from Devon, England, and will be a Cooking Instructor/Cabin Counselor. She currently studies Psychology at the University of Plymouth in England. 

Fun Facts: She can name every country in the world and has a rescue cat named Stanley.

Res Life Group Thorns

Ffion hails from Chester in Cheshire, England, and will be in charge of the Res Life Group Thorns. Ffion attended Liverpool John Moores University and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature and a Master’s Degree in Journalism. 

Fun Facts: She can label every US state on the map with no outlines, and has completed her Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Queen Elizabeth was in the next room when Ffion received her award.

Thorns Cabin Counselors

Rachel is from Seaford, East Sussex, UK, and is an Assistant Coach and Cabin Counselor. She graduated from the University of Winchester with a degree in English Linguistics and captained the soccer team. 

Fun Facts: She has traveled to 9 countries so far this year, and still doesn’t have a tan. 

Dani is from Waukee, IA, and is a General Counselor. She is a Junior at Iowa State University studying Psychology. 

Fun Facts: She knows the Pitch Perfect riff-off and can braid hair any way you may want.

Isla is from Plymouth, Devon, England, and is an Assistant Coach/Cabin Counselor. She is in her 1st year at Plymouth Marjon University studying Physical Education. 

Fun Facts: She has been stuck in a vending machine and has trained with the LA Galaxy.

Lauren is from London, UK, and is an Arts and Crafts Instructor/Cabin Counselor. She studied Geography at Cardiff University and now studies Art Foundation at University for the Creative Arts. 

Fun Facts: She has 2 cats named Biscuits and Bootsy and loves painting.

Amelia is originally from Hanover, NH, and will be an Assistant Soccer Coach/Cabin Counselor. She is currently a Sophomore at St. Lawrence University studying Neuroscience and is on the Women’s Soccer Team. 

Fun Facts: Her tongue can touch her nose and she has avocado & toast jibbitz on her Crocs.

Hannah is from Sunderland, England, and is a Cooking Instructor/Cabin Counselor. She is currently studying Criminology and Police Studies. 

Fun Facts: She has two dogs and this is her first time in America and at camp.

Precious is from Accra, Ghana, and will be an Assistant Soccer Coach and Cabin Counselor this summer. She will be attending Amherst College in the fall and will be part of the Women’s Soccer Team. 

Fun Facts: She loves dancing, and is always smiling.

Heidi is from Port Jefferson, New York, and will be a Lifeguard and Cabin Counselor this summer. She is currently a Junior at UMass Amherst studying Marketing with a minor in Psychology. 

Fun Facts: She is on the rowing team at UMass and can read pig Latin.
