Soccer Staff - OverviewOur dedicated Soccer Staff, consisting of Master Coaches, Head Coaches, and Assistant Coaches come to the Academy from across the nation to coach in our unique environment. Our Master and Head Coaches are licensed professionals who have dedicated their careers to youth soccer instruction. Our Assistant Coaches are former and current NCAA soccer players who are pursuing a career in coaching, teaching, sports psychology or sport administration. Every coach is committed to teaching and serving as a role model to our athletes.

CarynMacKenzieCaryn MacKenzie (aka: C-Mac)

C-Mac is the Director of Athletics at The Stanley Clark School. She is also the longtime Head girls’ soccer coach at John Adams High School in South Bend, Indiana. C-Mac has coached soccer at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels. Most notably, she was the Head women’s soccer coach at Saint Mary’s College for 4 seasons. She is also the current Head coach of the U-17 Fire Girls’ premier team with the Jr. Irish club, where she has coached for the past 5 years. C-Mac holds her National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Advanced National Diploma in coaching. 2017 is C-Mac’s 5th summer as a Master coach at BSA.

SarahDwyer-ShickSarah Dwyer-Shick

Sarah is the Division Head Coach for Eastern NY Girls North ODP and works with clubs from the AYSO to Premier level. She spent more than ten years coaching at the collegiate level during which time she worked as a head or assistant coach at each of the three NCAA divisions. She has also worked with the World of Football Summer School in both Austria and Brazil and has taken the Eastern New York state team to the Agropoli Cup in Italy. She received her undergraduate degree from Smith College and her Master’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Denver. She holds the USSF Youth License, NSCAA Advanced National & Advanced National Goalkeeping Diplomas, and has been certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the NSCA since 2001. 2015 was Sarah’s 2nd summer at BSA.

jeffkatzJeff Katz

In 2015, Jeff stepped down as the men’s varsity soccer coach at Brookline High School,to become a full-time assistant coach for the MIT women’s soccer team. During his 13 years at Brookline High, Jeff was the Bay State League Coach of the Year (2007), the Eastern Mass Coach of the Year (D1 North) ( 2008), and BHS Coach of the Year (2011). Since 2005, Katz has also coached U15-U18 girls at NEFC. In 2015, he worked with the U17 Elite squad and is the head coach for the U15 Elite girls of the Chestnut Hill Soccer Club. Jeff holds his USSF D license and NSCAA National & Advanced National diplomas. 2017 will be Jeff’s 4th summer at BSA. Jeff has been a 5th grade teacher at the Baker School in Chestnut Hill, MA for many years.

beccamadisonBecca Madison

Becca graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. While at OWU, she was a two-year captain, three time All-Conference player, and Team MVP. She was also named to the North Coast Athletic Conference All-Decade Team. In 2015, Becca was an assistant coach for the Rhodes College Women’s Soccer team in Memphis, TN. Before Rhodes, she was a graduate assistant coach for two years at Smith College, where she earned her master’s degree in Exercise and Sports Studies. In addition to collegiate experience, Becca has spent time at the club level coaching U-11 through U-15 age groups. Recently, Becca was selected to be a part of the NSCAA 30 Under 30 program. 2015 was Becca’s third year at BSA. Following the 2015 summer, she joined BSA as a full-time Program Director.

Evan Luster

Evan completed his undergrad at Franklin Pierce College in 2006, while studying Elementary Education. He recently completed his second of two Master’s degrees, one in Athletic Administration and an MBA, all while coaching men’s soccer at Springfield College. Evan has coached numerous youth soccer club teams in Connecticut and Massachusetts. He is currently the Director of Athletics and an Enrichment Teacher at Boston Preparatory Charter Public School in Boston, MA. Evan holds his NSCAA Advanced National coaching license. 2016 will be Evan’s 3rd summer as a coach at the Berkshire Soccer Academy.

Sean has extensive college coaching experience, most recently as the Head Men’s & Women’s Soccer Coach at Holy Names University in Oakland, California for the 2015 season. From 2011 – 2014, Sean served as head women’s soccer coach at Bethany College in Kansas, where he was voted the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Women’s Coach of the Year in 2013. Before Bethany, Sean was the head girls’ soccer coach at Marantha High School and coached club soccer with the Crescenta Valley Soccer Club. Sean played collegiate soccer at The Master’s College in Santa Clarita, CA, winning a national title in 2001. Sean also has a Master’s degree in Coaching & Athletic Administration from Condordia University. Sean holds an NSCAA National Diploma and a USSF “C” License in coaching. 2017 is Sean’s 3rd summer as a Master Coach at BSA.

Sarah Chapman

Sarah is the head women’s soccer coach at Averett University. She previously coached at Shattuck St. Mary’s in Faribault, MN and Stony Brook University. She graduated from the University of Florida in 2012. At UF, she played four years of Division I soccer. While in Florida, she served as the Assistant Director at the UF soccer camps and was the head coach of a U-15 girls club team in Gainesville. This will be Chappy’s 4th summer as a coach at BSA.

TerrynSoelbergTerryn Soelberg

Terryn is an assistant coach for Santa Ana College. She has also coached at Bakersfield College and at the youth level with South Valley Thunder U12 Girls Soccer Club. She played her first college soccer at Bakersfield College, where she led her team and her conference in goals. She went on to play for BYU-Hawaii where she was named All-Conference three years, was captain for two, and was selected as a PAC West Fantastic 15 Player. She graduated with her B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science and plans on getting her masters in the same field. Terryn has a USSF “D” coaching license. 2017 is Terryn’s fourth summer at BSA.

Torree Soelberg

Torree is in her first year as an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s programs at Holy Names University.  Prior to Holy Names, she was an assistant coach at Bethany College. Torree played collegiate soccer for two years at Bakersfield College as a central defender, where she was a captain and First Team All-Conference player both years. She finished out her career playing for Brigham Young University (BYU) Hawaii where she played center midfielder and helped take her team to the NCAA tournament. She received her B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Athletic Administration and Coaching.  Torree has a USSF “D” coaching license. 2017 is Torree’s fourth summer at the Berkshire Soccer Academy.

ashleymaxwellAshley Maxwell

Ashley was recently named the Assistant Coach at Park University in Missouri. Previously, she served as the assistant coach at Emporia State University, where she earned her Master’s degree. She attended and played for Park University during her undergrad career. Ashley spent some time coaching youth soccer after college, and then was recruited to play for Kansas City’s new semi-professional team, The Kansas City Shock, where she started at forward in their first season. Ashley also played professionally in Greece for Glyfada Women’s Futbol Club. After returning to the states, she worked for the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) before starting graduate school. This is Ashley’s 3rd summer at BSA.

katiecrumpKatie Crump

Katie is a graduating senior at the University of Indianapolis, where she is a 4-year member of the women’s soccer and women’s track and field programs. Having played and started nearly all of her collegiate matches, Katie is a part of the Greyhounds defensive backline. This past year, she earned Academic All-Conference honors. Katie is also on the sprint team at U-Indy, where she competes in the 800- meter run and sprint relay teams. She is majoring in Education, Spanish, and Special Education and hopes to work with a nonprofit organization or teach English to students abroad in the future. 2016 will be her 3rd summer at BSA.

Laura Greb

Laura graduated from Western Carolina University in 2014. She started 18 games as a senior. Majoring in Health and Physical Education, she is originally from Robbinsville, NJ where she played for the Princeton Soccer Club, and helped lead Robbinsville HS to a New Jersey State Championship. She was named NSCAA HS All-Region and Trentonian Soccer Player of the Year in 2009. Laura is now a teacher and coach in Asheville, North Carolina. This will be her 3rd summer as a coach at BSA.

Jackie Vaccari

Jackie played Division I college soccer at Boston College, where she played center mid for the Eagles for 4 years. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Social Work. Jackie is returning to BSA for her 2nd summer, this year as a Head Coach.

Sam is returning as a Head Coach for her 2nd summer. Sam coaches for Costa Mesa College and Riptide FC in San Diego. Sam has a strong interest and passion for athletics and fitness. She prior to coaching full-time Sam played club soccer for San Diego State and eventually went on to coach the same team.

taylormccavanaghTaylor McCavanagh

Taylor recently earned a Masters Degree in in Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology from Barry University in Florida. She completed her undergraduate studies at Binghamton University in New York, where she played Division 1 soccer for four years and was a 3-time member of the America East Conference Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. In the fall of 2016, Taylor will begin a Doctorate of Counseling Psychology at Springfield College. This is Taylor’s 2nd summer at BSA.

Lyndsey Oppenheimer

Lyndsey is a senior Elms College in Chicopee, MA, where she plays for the soccer team while carrying a double major in Early Childhood Education and English. In 2015, Lyndsey played in all 21 games as a defender, starting in 14. She has a passion to teach and inspire future generations. 2015 was Lyndsey’s 2nd summer as an assistant coach at the Berkshire Soccer Academy.

Arshia is coming to BSA for her 2nd summer as an assistant soccer coach all the way from Doha, Qatar. She has played professionally in Qatar and currently plays on her university team in the United Kingdom. Arshia’s passion for the game of soccer is infectious.

Ivy Houde

At Middlebury College Ivy plays for the women’s soccer team and studies Economics. She grew up in Virginia, where she played on the regional ODP team growing up. Ivy loves camp and soccer and is excited to enjoy them together for her first year at BSA.

Jenna Beauregard

Jenna is a graduating senior at the University of South Carlina at Aiken, where she played 4 years of Division II college soccer. Next season, she will take over as the Assistant Coach at USC-A. Jenna absolutely loves campfires and the 4th of July and is excited to show off her red, white & blue gear!

Kourtney is coming to us all the way from South Dakota, where she played Division II soccer and currently coaches at an NAIA school. Kourtney will be one of our goalkeeper coaches this summer for her 2nd year at BSA.

Laura is the assistant women’s soccer coach at Rose-Hulman in Indiana. Currently, she is persuing a Master’s Degree in Coaching from Indiana State University. She played her college soccer career at the University of the Pacific, a Division I school in California.


Maggie_Bodington2017Maggie Bodington

Maggie is a dual-sport athlete at Eastern Connecticut State University, playing soccer in the fall and lacrosse in the spring. She is currently studying Elementary Education and is so excited to show young athletes that they can have attainable goals. This will be Maggie’s 2nd summer at BSA.

Meghan Mauzy

Meghan is from Florida and plays Division II college soccer at Mississippi College, where she is studying Sport Management. Meghan coaches local youth club teams while she is at school and hopes one day to become an Athletic Director. This is Meghan’s 1st summer as an Assistant Soccer Coach at BSA.

Rachel, a student of the University of Edinburgh in the UK and is returning to BSA for her 2nd summer as an assistant soccer coach. She is currently studying towards her bachelors in Applied Sport Science, and playing soccer for the University team. Rachel cannot wait to be back at camp and to especially help those campers that might be a little anxious or shy

All the way from Ireland, Hannah is returning to BSA for her second summer as an assistant soccer coach. She is currently a coach for a local youth team, and plays at the highest level in Northern Ireland, for the Sion Swifts Ladies.

Kaelen is coming to BSA straight from USC Aiken for her 1st summer, and currently plays on her University team as a Goalkeeper. From her home town of Chareston, SC, Kaelen earned Two-Time all-region honoree playing for her highschool team. Majoring in elementary Special education Kaelen cannot wait too….

A sophomore at Uruline College, and a native Californian, Tatianna is coming to BSA for her first summer as an assistant Coach with several summers experience working in a residential camp setting. Currently studying sports managemet, Tatianna cannot wait to work with our girls this summer and develop more as a coach.

Cassandra is a Sophmore at Wofford College in South Carolina. A Three-year letterman at Dorman High School, Cassandra helped team to a State Quarterfinal finish in 2015 as Team Captain. From Spartanburg, SC, this will be Cassandra’s 1st year this at BSA this summer as an assistant coach.

Kate is joining BSA for her first summer as an Assistant Coach. A current Sophmore at Cambridge University, England, she is a very active player on her University team and has an extensive experience in refereeing. Kate cannot wait to join the team this summer to share her passion for soccer with her campers.

All the way from Madrid, Spain, Victoria will be joining us at BSA this summer for her first year as an Assistant Coach. A current Senior at Southern Connecticut University, Victoria will graduate with a Major in exercise science, earning All-New England Honoree and All-Northeast-10 Conference selection in her two seasons playing for the owls.

Dena Floyd

Dena is from Raleigh, North Carolina. For the past 13 years, Dena’s career has involved sports and health and wellness in a strength & conditioning/personal training/health consulting capacity. She has worked at private gyms and camps, as well as at Stanford University. Dena coached Division I women’s soccer at NC State University. Her playing career included being a 4-years as a starter at the University of Florida and a stint in a semi-pro league. Most recently, Dena received her Masters degree at NC State in Leadership and Non-Profit Management. 2015 was Dena’s second summer at BSA.

Aileen Ascolese

Aileen has been the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Alfred University since March 2013. She previously served as an assistant coach at Brandeis University, Rensselaer Polytechnic, and Elmira College. In her two years at Alfred, two of her players have been named to the Empire 8 All-Conference team, two have been named the Empire 8 Sportswoman of the Year, and two of have been named the Muriel Strong Morley award winner, an honor given to Alfred University’s most outstanding female athlete. Aileen was a four-year starter at Division I Rider University, serving as team captain her senior year and twice earning NCAA scholar-athlete honors. She holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) ‘B’ license and National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Advanced National Diploma.

Kevon Isa

Kevon is the Head Women’s soccer coach at American International College in Springfield, MA. He has helped guide the Yellow Jackets to a 52-23-7 record over the past four years; with three NCAA tournament appearances, including a trip to the national semifinals in 2013. He has over fourteen years of coaching experience at the club, collegiate and state levels. He has a United States Soccer federation “B” license and a National Soccer College Association of American “National Advanced” License. He played Division II soccer at American International College and graduated with a B.A. in Marketing. Kevon later played professionally with the Springfield Legends in the PSAL and the Massachusetts Twisters of the American Indoor Soccer League. He was also a member of the Trinidad and Tobago U-17 and U-20 National Teams.

Maria Lubrano

Maria is a 3-time NCAA National Champion at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sport Science.  After winning the 2012 NCAA National Championship, Maria played professionally in Italy for Napoli Carpisa-Yamamay Calcio Femminile.

Diane Drake

Diane was the head coach of the George Mason University women’s soccer team from 2003 – 2014. Before that, she coached at Georgetown University and UNC Greensboro (where Liza Wittenberg played). Diane played at the University of Dayton in Ohio where she studied psychology, and then earned a masters in kinesiology from Louisiana State University. Diane holds a United States Soccer Federation “A” license, and an NSCAA Premiere Badge.

Sarah Strickland

Sarah is the Head Women’s Coach at Appalachian State in Boone, NC. She has many years of coaching experience at the club, collegiate and national levels. She is a United States Soccer Federation “B” licensed coach. She played Division I soccer at George Mason University, graduating with a B.A. in psychology.

mollystoneMolly Stone

Molly played four years of Division I collegiate soccer at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. While majoring in English Education, Molly captained her team during her Junior and Senior years and was a three-time First Team All-Conference player. From playing in the NCAA tournament to being a part of the Canadian National Training Center, Molly is a well-rounded and diverse soccer junky. Her most recent success was being a part of the Victoria Highlanders W-league team where she got her debut in the big league. 2015 was Molly’s 2nd summer with BSA.

Martha is a sophomore at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte studying Exercise Science. In 2015, she was named to the All-American Second Team and was named the Conference USA Freshman of the Year. She added an NSCAA All-Central Region First Team selection and was tabbed as a member of the All-NCCSIA First Team. Although she hopes to pursue physical therapy school, she is also very interested in staying involved in coaching or playing soccer! Throughout high school, Martha coached a U-12 girls team at her local club.

nicolefowlerNicole Fowler

Nicole is a 3-year starter for the Springfield College Pride women’s soccer team. In 2015, her junior season, she served as a tri-captain under Coach John Gibson, starting all 21 games and scoring 10 goals. The National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) honored Nicole with their 2015 All-American Athlete Award. Nicole has helped to lead Springfield College to 3-straight NEWMAC Conference Championships. She is an Applied Exercise Science major.

allierooneyAllie Rooney

Allie has played four years of varsity soccer at Smith College where she is majoring in economics and minoring in exercise and sport sciences. As a freshman at Smith, she led her team in goals scored and total points. She has since transitioned to the center back position and her team made it to the conference quarterfinals in 2015 while allowing one goal or less in 12 of their 18 games. She is originally from Ludlow, MA where she played for Cathedral High School and helped lead the team to a Western Mass Division I Championship game. She captained her high school team for two years and was named an All-League and All-Western Mass player her junior and senior year.

alexplaceAlex Place

Alex, a junior at Cornell College in Iowa, is captain of the soccer team and started and played in every game of her career. She is studying biochemistry and molecular biology in hopes of going to med-school. Growing up in small town Denver, IA, she was the captain of her high school soccer team, earning All-State and All-tournament team honors. Alex helped lead her high school team to the state tournament for the first time in school history. She was also the captain of her club soccer team, FC Midwest. Alex also coaches for various local club teams in her area.

charlottepearsallCharlotte Pearsall

Charlotte plays soccer at East Carolina University, where she is enrolled in the Honors College and is majoring in sports management and hoping to minor in communications. Named team captain and an all-state selection during her junior and senior years of high school, Charlotte also received all-region and all-conference recognition each season and was the team’s top scorer during each campaign. She possesses a United States Soccer Federation `E’ Coaching License and is currently pursuing her D license. She has traveled to Nicaragua to coach teams as well as coaching in her hometown of Wilmington, NC and in Greenville, NC.

sarahglowaSarah Glowa

Sarah graduated from SUNY Oneonta in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. She played four years of collegiate soccer and was captain her senior year. She began her career as a center back and ended it as a striker. Sarah was named to the Mayor’s Cup All-Tournament team and the SUNYAC All-Academic Team for her senior season.

rachelgutowskiRachel Gutowski

Rachel is currently the assistant women’s soccer coach at Marietta College in Ohio. She graduated from Wilmington College with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, where she was a four-time all-conference defender. In each of her final three seasons there, she earned All-Ohio honors. Rachel has coached youth soccer for many years and has done internships with Fast Twitch Performance Enhancement & with Cross-Fit. She is currently pursuing her coaching career and hopes to be a college head coach one day. 2015 was her first summer at BSA.

Georgia Ferguson

Georgia played four years at Gettysburg College. She helped lead her 2015 team to a 12-3-3 record, losing in the Semis at Conferences. In Spring 2015, Georgia studied abroad in Cape Town, South Africa, where she was involved in an extensive research program on Grassroots Soccer, which helps children learn about HIV awareness and other life skills through soccer.

Jessica Lopez

Jessica is a senior at Wesleyan University in CT, majoring in History and Hispanic Literatures and Cultures. A two-time All-County player at Monument Mountain Regional, Jessica captained her high school team in her senior year and was also a starter and captain for Blackwatch FC NY and Westenhook United. She helped in the business startup process for The Fieldhouse, Canaan, NY, and has been involved in program development, coaching, and training there ever since.

Alexa Vojvodic

A recent graduate from Geneseo State University, Alexa holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Mathematics. Originally from Mineola, NY she attended school in Geneseo and played four years of college soccer as a Geneseo Knight—her first two years as a center back and the last two as an attacking center mid. She was the captain during her senior season and trained with the Croatian national team during the UEFA Euro Cup Qualifiers.

Rachel Ames

Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, Rachel has played soccer since age 3 and excels as a goalkeeper. She is a junior at Yale, majoring in Psychology and hopes to either coach or have a career in the medical field after college. She was captain of her high school soccer team and in her junior year was awarded Alabama Player of the Year and MVP. She was awarded the Rookie of the Week award in her freshman year at Yale. During that same year, she also played every minute of seven Ivy League games in goal, was third in the Ivy League in save percentage (.814) and saves per game (4.07). She also received the Captain’s Cup award, given by the senior class to the freshman that represented the team well on and off the field. Last summer she played for Alabama FC in the WPSL and was named to the All-South team, and was the goalkeeper of the year for her region.

Hannah Jasurda

Hannah is an Assistant Varsity Coach at her Alma Mater D. C. Everest High School, where she earned All-Conference honors and the WIAA Scholar Athlete Award.  In 2014, she graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Interdisciplinary Natural Sciences and Bio-medical Physics. At USF, she played 4 years of Division I soccer as a goalkeeper and spent her free time coaching youth soccer players.

Erica Lippitt

Erica played Division I soccer at Drexel University for 2 years, before finishing her education and college soccer career at the University of Northern Florida. She holds a Masters degree in Sport Psychology from Georgia Southern University, where she also works as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Women’s Soccer Team. She also has her USSF “C” license, and NSCAA Level III Goalkeeper Diploma.

Marcia Silva

Marcia is the Women’s Soccer Graduate Assistant at Southwest Baptist University. She played at Martin Methodist College in Tennessee, and was a two-time All-American. Marcia led her team to three NAIA national semifinals, including the NAIA national championship in 2007. A native of Valinhos, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Silva played three years on the Sao Paulo state team, and saw action with the youth teams of Corinthians FC and Portoguesa de Desporto.

Kate Incerto

Originally from Houston, Kate began her career at St. Edwards University but graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Sport Management in May 2011. She played midfield for the Longhorns, and went on to play for the Boston Breakers in 2012.

Katherine Knapp

Katie is a Secondary Education major at SUNY New Paltz in New York. Currently a sophomore, she hopes to be a Math teacher at the middle school or high school level. She is a midfielder for the Hawks, and is originally from Bayport, NY where she was named All-League in 2010 at Bayport-Blue Point High School.

Amelia Johnson

Emmy is a senior at Northern Michigan University where she is a Biology major. She earned the GLIAC Women’s Soccer “Athlete of the Week” in 2010. Originally from St. Michael, Minnesota Emmy holds her National “E” Coaching License. An avid runner, she will complete her first marathon in June.

Kiva Gresham

Kiva is an Assistant Soccer Coach at Louisiana Tech University where she played her college soccer. She earned numerous accolades there including Academic All-WAC honors, was named first-team all-Louisiana in 2009 and 2010.

Erica Taylor – Athletic Trainer

Erica received her Master’s degree in Sports Medicine from Georgia State University in 2010. During her time at GSU, Taylor was a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at The Westminster Schools, as well as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in GSU’s Kinesiology and Health Department. Taylor received her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Michigan State University in 2008. Erica has worked numerous camps, special events and NCAA tournaments. She has also had the opportunity to travel with teams from the United States Soccer Federation on training trips in the US and abroad. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association.
