This year was the 75th anniversary of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Convention. Billed as the “world’s largest annual gathering of soccer coaches,” each year the convention draws over 10,000 attendees over the five days for live field demonstrations, lecture sessions, networking, and coaching diplomas.

We took 1 awesome selfie with our friend Yael Averbuch. Yael was at the Convention presenting two different coaching sessions with David Copeland-Smith of Beast Mode Soccer on “Owning Your Own Development.” She also spent time at BSA last summer, teaching our athletes some innovative techniques to improve your touch.

In true Berky fashion, we played our famous “Dice Game” at our booth in the Exhibit Hall. There were over 1,200 exhibitors, and we were lucky enough to meet some future #berkygirls. We had 3 Dice Game winners that each won autographed soccer balls.

The convention is a great place to network, meet new coaches, and reunite with all of our Berky coaches. This year, we were able to catch up with 12 of our former coaches and staff members. One of our beloved Master Coaches, Caryn MacKenzie, aka “C-Mac” was able to grab a picture with USWNT 99er Briana Scurry at this year’s convention.

Our very own coach, Becca Madison, was honored for her participation in the NSCAA 30 Under 30 Coaching Program – a year-long education and mentorship opportunity for a select few up-and-comers in the coaching field. Becca was able to collaborate with fellow program members on methods to inspire young coaches as well as speak with veteran coaches about new ways to improve the soccer experience for today’s players.
