Berky Never Stops Getting Better!

Every fall, we sift through hundreds of camper, parent and staff surveys, looking for inspiring ideas to improve Berky. The result: multifaceted facility upgrades and program enhancements. Read on to discover what’s new for 2025.

What’s New in Soccer?

New Outdoor Turf

Our original outdoor turf field, which first saw play in 2011 (our first year), has reached the end of its life span. This spring, we’re replacing the old turf to provide athletes with a high-performing playing surface.

Smaller Berky Tourney Teams

The Berky Tourney is a camper favorite—woohoo! We’re making it even better by reducing the number of players on each team and increasing each athlete’s time on the field.

Colder Water

We heard you loud and clear—you want colder water at the fields, and we’re making it happen. Our new Pavilion ice machine and dispenser will create a ready supply of ice for water bottles and jugs.

Upgraded Mac-Arena Sound System

Upper Field Netting

We’re replacing the existing metal fencing along the west side of the upper grass field with netting. This will enhance safety and save the time taken to retrieve soccer balls.

More Fun at the Lake

The “Rock-It” is back—and it’s bigger than ever. It will accommodate 12 to 15 campers, making the lake even more fun and inclusive.

Elevating Electives

We’re adding a Sand Volleyball court to the Chill Zone, giving Berky Girls another great Rec Deck option.

Cabin and Dining Comfort

New Mattresses

Our oldest campers asked, and we listened! Every athlete on Legends Row (Hoch, Lilly, Hamm, Wambach) will have a new inner-spring mattress. Better sleep means even more energy for fun with friends and on the fields.

New Dining Pavilion

Our new dining pavilion, opposite the front entrance to the dining hall, will offer more rain-protected dining space and a more comfortable dining experience for all.

We can’t wait for campers to experience these improvements for themselves in Summer 2025.
