During an early March weekend, March 6th – 8th, we flew, drove and ran across the country from our winter office in San Diego to Long Island for the Long Island Junior Soccer League Convention. After four successful years of soccer training at the Academy, it was great to see so many familiar faces.
Simply put, our travels were well worth it the moment we saw former campers wearing their Berky Shirts proudly (and it wasn’t even #BerkyShirtFriday)!
In true Berkshire fashion, the Academy booth was focused around a game…”the dice game!” It was a fun way to get everyone playing and even better, winning! Another highlight at the booth was the chance to win an Academy t-shirt signed by one of our Visiting Pros, Heather O’Reilly (HAO). Besides the 732 dice game players, over 50 people entered our giveaway.
Lucky President of Terryville Soccer Club, Cora Fitzgerald won a Heather O’Reilly signed Berky shirt. She “Called her shot”, a much harder thing to do than it may seem!
Beyond the bustling convention in Long Island, we were also able to make a stop in Bedford Hills at the Bedford Hills Soccer Post. Karen and her crew at the store have so much energy and passion for soccer; we were thrilled to get to meet some of the great soccer athletes in Bedford at this event. Stop into the Bedford Soccer Post to enter a Raffle for a signed Mia Hamm postcard!
Didn’t get a chance to meet the directors during our New York trip? We are always looking for new places to visit. Let us know if you have an event planned; we’d love to meet you.
