A New Chapter: Introducing Berky South in West Virginia

The Berkshire Soccer Academy is opening a second location —Berky South— on the grounds of the former Camp Rim Rock in Yellow Spring, West Virginia, just a two-hour drive (less than 100 miles) from the Washington, D.C. metro area. Berky South will open in June 2027.

Since 2011, our flagship camp in Otis, Massachusetts, has delivered elite soccer training, alongside a classic summer camp experience. A second camp will let us bring our program to more athletes across the South, Midwest and Mid-Atlantic

Honoring Camp Rim Rock’s Legacy

Located in the hills of West Virginia, Camp Rim Rock has a rich history of empowering young women. We are proud to build upon that legacy of empowering young women to discover their greatness.

While continuing to live Rim Rock’s values, we will also make significant campus upgrades ahead of our inaugural season:

  • Camper cabins will be upgraded with pine paneling, complete bathroom facilities and air conditioning.
  • The central soccer field will be transfomed into a professional-quality playing surface and a covered artificial turf field will be added.
  • The camp’s two pools will be completely renovated and the lake fitted with waterpark elements.
  • Other recreational spaces will be relocated and updated to enable the integration of soccer training and traditional camp elective activities like archery, cooking, arts & crafts and watersports.

Experienced Leadership

To ensure that Berky South meets the highest standards, our existing leadership team will both lead the facility’s physical transformation and oversee its operation.

Longtime Directors Paul and Mandie Titley will lead and launch Berky South, bringing years of operational expertise, culture, and care to the new campus.

Katy Kreiner, who will remain the Academy’s on-site Massachusetts Director, will also play a critical role in Berky South’s development. Katy will oversee camper recruiting and parent communications across both camps.

And Dan Zenkel, who envisioned, founded, and oversaw the Academy’s development, will continue to play a critical role in developing the West Virginia program and facility.

The Berky Experience at Berky South

While the setting is new, the goals and program structure will remain unchanged.  We will continue to blend world-class coaching with a friendly, inviting traditional camp setting to help girls discover their greatness on and off the field. Our goal is to enable every athlete to:

  • Develop as a whole player
  • Build meaningful relationships; and
  • Have good, old-fashioned, healthy fun.

This will be accomplished through

  • elite soccer training focused on technical and mental skills
  • an inclusive cabin environment in which 2 counselors oversee 8-12 girls
  • a balanced daily schedule featuring focused field sessions, electives, and evening activities.

We look forward to welcoming our first group of athletes in June 2027. We will share ongoing facility updates, progress photos, and registration details in the coming months.
